Bort's Battlefield Report

Race: Gem/Lustrous (Specifically industrial diamond)
Age: At least over three hundred years old (This being the age of Phosphophyllite the youngest gem at the start of the series)
Gender: Lustrous have no biological gender but due to how they present I will use he/him pronouns primarily with Bort
Hair color: Black on the outside and dark brown on the inside.
Eye color: Black
Personality: Bort is quite stern, blunt, and to the point most of the time, usually not one to mince words when speaking to others. Also nicknamed a 'battle maniac' by others like Phos this isn't exactly wrong as Bort excels at combat and is obsessed with battle to the point where when Phos got his alloy arms Bort wanted to cut them to see how it felt, ignoring the potential risk to Phos that this posed. All of these traits along with a willingness to quite bluntly point out the flaws and short comings of his fellow Gems can make Bort seem intimidating and scary to his peers but also as reliable in battle and most Gems become instantly relieved in battle when Bort arrives on the battlefield. However beneath this hard and harsh exterior Bort does have a softer and more caring side as seen by his use of 'Big Brother' in the Japanese and 'Didi' in the English translations of the series for Diamond during moments where he's super stressed or worried about the older gem's safety and he is perfectly willing to give solid advice to other Gems to help them improve their combat abilities. They can also display a snarky sense of humor at times and has a surprising weakness to things they deem cute, such as being unable to cut down the Lunarian Shiro once he was split into his smaller and cuter dog form bodies along with struggling to hold back his laughter when Ventricosus in her slug form landed on Sensei's head, and blushing slightly while receiving a headpat from Sensei before that. He also has a deep passion for jellyfish and at one point had even kept a diary documenting the jellyfish that live on the grounds of the school, though the title made Ghost Quartz mistake it for a war journal when they discovered it in the library. All in all Bort is a hardass but one that cares deeply for his peers and is more than capable of showing respect to those who he feels deserve it.
